PROJECT: Dvorecky Bridge Competition

LOCATION: Prague, Czech Republic

ROLE: Bridge Architect

ENGINEER: FINLEY International

YEAR: 2018

The new bridge is to connect the natural bank of Podolí with the noisy edge of Smíchov. Using a proven and timeless design, concentrating on the horizontal lines of the Vltava valley. The steel lattice structure, in a purely modern concept, symbolically follows up the industrial history and, in conjunction with the concrete slab, uses the benefits of both materials. Hybrid bridges are progressive in terms of sustainability and lifecycle, with good maintenance, they easily exceed the design life of 100 years.
